Customer Reference - further details available on request:
" Our application included 100 local control touch-panels for an Railway Station Environmental Control System in Hong Kong, to be located in unventilated industrial equipment room environments, and requiring IP55 rating to prevent ingress of water and dust.
The panels had to mount in tight, enclosed spaces, and there were particular mounting requirements, so a customized mounting enclosure was required. Other requirements included the need for a separate OSD control panel on an extended cable, inclusion of an audio power amp and speaker, and an interface umbilical cable.
The project had a short time-frame, and we wanted to avoid trying to integrate a piecemeal solution ourselves, so we needed a "one stop shop" for a complete touch solution. We approached TouchScreen Solutions to design a custom enclosure which would accommodate our customer's demanding requirements, including: - touch-panel,
- custom powder-coated steel enclosure,
- mounting brackets,
- audio output,
- interface umbilical, and
- one-piece custom seals.
TouchScreen Solutions provided a design for a customized enclosure which included these requirements, and was able to liaise with the screen manufacturer for provision of the external OSD panel, and the specific touch controller we wanted to use.
TouchScreen Solutions provided assembled and tested prototypes, on time and to our tight schedule, which we subjected to tear-down inspections to evaluate sealing, performed functional and electrical testing, and testing in a heat enclosure. The end-user also conducted a review. With TouchScreen Solutions cooperation, the design was modified to address comments arising from the review, and a final prototype was developed for approval. On approval of the prototype, the main order was placed, which was delivered ahead of schedule, and with a consistent build quality in accordance with the approved prototype.
In the 6 months following the beginning of installation, we achieved in excess of 150,000 run hours of reliable operation through the Hong Kong summer, with no issues reported from the field.
